INTRODUCING THE

Leadership Team

Six board members are elected at the end of each calendar year. These members then meet to decide which position each board member will take:

  • President
  • Treasurer
  • Program Coordinator
  • Trip Coordinator
  • Trail Day & Access Issues
  • Communication/Webmaster

The previously-serving President also sits on the board.

The Board of Directors meets quarterly. Board meetings are announced on the web site, and all members are welcome to sit in. If you wish to contact a board member directly about an issue, please see their short profile below.

Justin NeSmithPresident
I started climbing in 2019 after watching The Dawn Wall movie. I asked myself why I wasn’t doing that with my life. Went to the gym the next week, got a membership and proceeded to start buying gear. I enjoy all types of climbing but mostly bouldering and sport. I joined the ACC in 2021 to try and give back to such a great community of individuals. Outside of climbing I enjoy kayaking, mountain biking, hiking, camping, music, jewelry making, and beer.
Scott Nelson

Born in Florida, but lived most of my life in Metro Atlanta. Got into climbing in 2011 with a membership at SSA. First joined the ACC in 2022. Other interests include whitewater kayaking, camping, and gaming. My favorite outdoor climbing crags are in Red River Gorge.
Eva Williams

Originally from Poland, I moved to Atlanta in 2003 and fell in love with the southern climate and abundance of outdoor opportunities. When I’m not at the climbing gym, you can find me outside climbing, hiking, running, kayaking, swimming or camping. I started climbing in 2011 and joined the ACC in 2020. Other interest include salsa dancing, and Habitat for Humanity.

I’ve been climbing on and off with my entire family for over 10 years, mostly in the South East. I enjoy everything from casual gym sessions to outdoor sport climbing. I’ve also had the opportunity to experience some incredible mountaineering adventures on Mt Baker and The Grand Tetons. Originally from Florida, I’ve called the North Fulton area home for the past 17 years.
Kelsey Miller
Kelsey MillerProgram Director
Hi, I’m Kelsey Miller! I’m graduating in May from Emory with my master of public health (MPH) with a focus on social determinants of health. I’ve been climbing at Stone Summit Atlanta since 2019 and you can usually find me lead climbing in the evenings. I love crimps, overhangs, and long walks on the beach! Outdoor climbing is new to me, so I’m looking forward to learning more in the upcoming year. I’m excited to chat with everyone as the new ACC communication liaison!
Karen Henson
Karen HensonTrail Day and Access Issues Manager
My name is Karen Henson and I’ve been a part of Atlanta Climbing Club since 2022. I have always loved the outdoors and discovered my passion for climbing over 11 years ago, focusing mainly on sport climbing. For me, it’s not just about the sport but also the incredible community that comes with it.
Sam Cantrell
Sam CantrellWebmaster
I started climbing on a whim in 2018 and quickly fell in love with the sport and its community. I prefer trad and sport, but will top rope or boulder if it’s the only way I can get outside. My favorite crag is Tallulah Gorge, but I’m always happy to be around any rock whether I’m projecting or just chatting and enjoying the stoke!
