April is the time for the big spring trip (Yay!!) and this email is to help you plan your stay for the trip. This year we will be going to Looking Glass near Brevard, NC to climb on April 11th – 12th.. For those that haven’t gone on one of these trips, usually most people drive up Friday night and leave on Sunday after climbing. Club will also host Saturday night group dinner at one of camp grounds, more detailed on dinner will come later.

If you are planning to come to this overnight trip, then now is a good time to book a place for Friday and Saturday night (Obviously, you can join us on one of the days if a 2 day trip does not work for you).

Some options for overnight stay:

  1. Cabins / Chalets: There are plenty of cabins available for rent in and around Brevard – Just google “Cabins in Brevard NC”. Below is a link to a website that you can use to find cabins in Brevard, NC. Just make sure that you do not book something that is very far from the trailhead.

  1. Camping: Again, plenty of camping option near looking glass climbing area. There are couple of free primitive campsites near South side parking at looking glass that are available for free on a first come first serve basis. Paid campsites with more amenities are also available at the Davidson River campground.

If you need any help finding a place, have any questions or want to coordinate with anyone else for sharing a cabin / campsite then please feel free to email Bindal – shah.bindal@gmail.com.

We will share details on time / place to meet for climbing later as we get close to the trip day.
