I hereby acknowledge that participation in climbing and related activities and transportation to and from those activities involves inherent risks of bodily injuries, illness, death, or loss of personal property and assume all such risks. I acknowledge risks but freely and voluntarily choose to participate in activities of the Atlanta Climbing Club (“the Club”) or activities led by its members, trip leaders, or agents (“the Activities”).
In consideration of being allowed to participate in the Activities, I hereby release and forever discharge the Club, its officers, members, trip leaders, and agents from liability for any bodily injury, illness, death, or loss of personal property which may occur during the Activities or during transportation to or from the Activities, whether foreseen or unforeseen, however caused and whether or not caused by the negligence of the Club, its officers, members, trip leaders, or agents. I hereby waive any and all such claims, which I or my heirs or legal assignees may possess, and we further covenant and agree not to sue the Club, its officers, members, trip leaders, or an agent for damages arising out of my participation in the Activities or transportation to or from the Activities.
I understand that the Club does not provide insurance coverage in any form, and I acknowledge that I am solely responsible for any hospital or other costs arising out of any bodily injury or property damage sustained through my participation to and from the Activities.
I understand that the Club does not provide climbing instruction and that neither the Club nor its trip leaders hold themselves out as competent to teach the skills needed to climb. I understand that it is the responsibility of each participant to participate only in those activities for which he or she has the prerequisite skills, qualifications, preparation, and training, and I acknowledge that the Club does not warrant or guarantee in any respect the competency or mental or physical condition of any trip leader, vehicle driver, or individual participant.
