On September 7-8 we’re headed to Linville Gorge in North Carolina for our fall trip. Located in the Pisgah National Forest northwest of Morganton, NC, the gorge provides unspoiled views of old-growth forest. Climbing on quartzite cliffs is available in a wide range of difficulties and differing levels of remoteness to suit everyone’s taste for adventure.

Much of the climbing in Linville Gorge is multi-pitch, and there are multiple areas to camp. All of the camping is primitive, with no sources of water easily available. Vault toilets are available when camping at Table Rock, but other areas may require you to take care of things yourself.

If you are interested in going on the Linville Gorge trip, please complete our trip signup form by next Wednesday, Sep. 4. We need to coordinate who is going and make sure everyone has a partner and ends up at the same place.
